Canon MP620 – Will the MP620 Printer Make a Good Stocking Stuffer This Year?

Canon MP620 - Will the MP620 Printer Make a Good Stocking Stuffer This Year?

The MP620 all-in-one printer was the last item needed to complete my wife’s home office. I gave it to her as an early Christmas gift, after looking at multi function printers for a solid 2 weeks! So far, she and I have used many of the functions of the Canon MP620. Certainly we have used it enough to pass on some helpful impressions of it’s performance.

We were really looking for a model that did not take up much space, as my wife’s office is quite small. This printer really fit the bill, and fit nicely on top of a medium file cabinet. It has a relatively small footprint, and weighs well under 20 pounds. Of course the truth of the matter is, with a wireless connection, we can put it anywhere we want!

Speaking of wireless connection, It was very simple to set up. Not the chore experienced by others with different all-in-one models. The instruction manual is electronic, not paper, and is written very clearly. I was printing within 20 minutes of opening the box!

One of the reasons I was printing so quickly, is a feature called “Quick Start.” It powers up the MP620 so fast, that it seems almost instantaneous. It also has 2 paper trays, one in the front, and the other in the rear. They are for plain paper and photo paper respectively. The trays also fold into the main body, helping to keep the printer sleek and streamlined.

I am really impressed by the 2.5 inch high definition LCD display which provides crisp and clear previews of your images, viewable from many angles.

Easy-PhotoPrint EX software is included with the kit that comes with the Canon MP620. Part of that package is Auto Photo Fix, which  optimizes your images for elements such as skin tone, white balance and brightness, and those helpful red-eye corrections.

We also like the cool Auto Scan feature, which can tell the type of item you’re scanning – a photo, business card, personal notebook etc. and automatically scans and saves the image with the proper settings.

In conclusion, while I actually gave the MP620 to my wife as an early Christmas gift, I am actually using it as much as her! It makes a welcome addition to her new home office!
